We all need to get away…

What is Wilderness Journeys?

“I believe we all need to get away from time to time from the hustle and bustle, the madness and demands, the expectations and the challenges of our daily lives. In the wilderness we find a part of ourselves and our sense of faith/spirituality that we can lose in the world.” - Jonathan Malone

The Wilderness

The wilderness can be a gift…

There is an allure to being in the wilderness, a romantic draw to getting away from the distractions and trappings of the world. Yet how does one take that first step and dive into the uncluttered terrain? And how can you pull from the experience so that it is not just a walk in the woods, but an opportunity to connect with the divine in a deep and profound way?

Wilderness Journeys is an opportunity to join others on a guided trip into the wilderness with a deliberate effort to connect with God (however God is understood). Jonathan Malone, ordained through the American Baptist, will guide you through the wilderness and invite you to embrace those moments and experiences wherein one can find the Divine.

With Wilderness Journeys you can go into the wilderness for a day hike or a multi-day backpacking trip. On these non-sectarian/non-denominational trips you will be pushed and rewarded on mountain tops, next to streams and lakes, and through the glory of nature. Our trips are on the East Coast, West Coast, and anywhere else people are yearning to engage the wilderness. We are currently scheduling our next season of trips. Now is the time to reach out and express your interest.

He is a certified Wilderness First Responder through NOLS, and spends countless weeks, days, and hours in the wilderness trying to find God. He keeps looking and welcomes you to join him.

“This was an amazing experience. It was the hardest thing I had ever done and the most fulfilling.”
